I think it is a point of view issue. Par being the norm, a “below” norm day would be considered bad. As a “golfer” and never experincing a subpar day, you sould strike the hypothesis above as I’m not qualified to speak on this subject! Maybe not in California Damon. I guess I mostly hear it as a “sub-par” day. Or if something is below par it’s not good.
