Par?

In a random moment of Regina thought, (hey, it happens occasionally!) I wondered this:

Why is a great golf game below par but a great day is above par?

  1. uhhh…

since when is a day ‘above par’?

    nobody says that…do they?

  2. Maybe not in California Damon. I guess I mostly hear it as a “sub-par” day. Or if something is below par it’s not good.

  3. And why do we drive on a parkway and park in a driveway?

  4. I think it is a point of view issue. Par being the norm, a “below” norm day would be considered bad. As a “golfer” and never experincing a subpar day, you sould strike the hypothesis above as I’m not qualified to speak on this subject! Watch a little Jim Gaffigan on you tube to bring some levity to your week!

  5. Same reason the blind man wears sunglasses but the deaf man doesnt wear earmuffs.
